Dazzle kicks off week-long Mardi Gras celebration tonight
It's Mardi Gras week at Dazzle Restaurant & Lounge, and what better way to indulge in all your favorite past times than with a few drinks, some great food, a ton of jazz and a lot of celebrating.The party kicks off tonight and runs until Fat Tuesday, February 21 with prize drawings, and there is most certainly something for everyone. Ellyn Rucker and Keith Oxman play the music of Spike Robinson tomorrow night, Queen City Jazz Band, featuring virtuoso jazz banjo player Eddie Erickson, performs on Friday, February 17, bluesman Otis Taylor will be there on Saturday and Sunday, February 18 and 19 to celebrate the release of his brand new album, Contraband.
The charity drawing will be held as a silent auction all week and prizes will be auctioned off at the start of each performance in the main show room during Mardi Gras week.Prizes vary from Jazz Aspen Snowmass tickets, gift cards, Dazzle swag, massages and more.
Dazzle will be partnering with several organizations for the drawing, giving each charity 50 percent of the proceeds. The New Orleans Musicians Relief fund that aids displaced and disadvantaged musicians in the New Orleans area, and Common Ground Relief, which aims to rebuild homes in New Orleans and the Gulf area will be the recipients of the silent auction drawing.
The Fat Tuesday celebration starts at 5 p.m. and will include costumes, face painting, musicians, with sounds by DJ Jace until the Blue Sky Carnival Band kicks things into high gear at 7 p.m. and Todd Reid for the Tuesday Jam. Specials include $15 all-you-can-eat Louisiana-style buffet, $10 all you can drink Abita Beer or Rum Hurricanes and more.
