This week's cover story, "Black and Blue," by Joel Warner, examines the incident and aftermath of Alex Landau's bloody run-in with the Denver police in January 2009.

Landau, now 21, is a student at the Community College of Denver and, like many college students, loves writing and listening to music. When we met with Landau earlier this week for a video interview to go with the story, he slipped us a CD with a song he recorded a few days prior. Listen to it below.
