Italian DJ Donato Dozzy doesn't plan his sets in advance. While he sometimes selects a theme based on a mood, he utlimately reads the crowd and responds accordingly, throwing down exactly the right track at exactly the right time. His dark, psychedelic techno meanders from ambient to dance-driven, and he's even been known to throw down impressive microhouse sets. The self-proclaimed vinyl addict, who already had a serious collection by the time he was thirteen, has released music on various imprints, including Orangegroove and Lan Muzic, among others. Afterhours Anonymous, Mahesh Presents and Mother Earth Sound System are collaborating to bring Dozzy in from Berlin, where he currently resides, to spin what will no doubt be an amazing set on Saturday, October 15, at the Werkz, 3821 Steele Street; e-mail [email protected] for details and to RSVP.
