DJ Konrad Black is all about the dirty, dirty bass. His signature sound evolved from his involvement in the drum-and-bass scene, and echoes of the dark, deadly tones so prevalent in that form make up the basis of his distinctive take on techno. His work as a producer has made waves among the style's biggest names; Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Steve Bug and Sven Vath are just a few of the DJs playing his records. His hits "Medusa Smile" and "Draconia," both released on his own Wagon Repair label, are destined to become future classics, and his work as a DJ is being recognized with his upcoming entry in the Watergate mix series. You don't have to wait for any of that, though. You can catch Black on Friday, February 13, in the Beatport Lounge at Beta.
