Scratching the Surface
White Girl Lust is what happens when rock music meets DJ culture. DJs Eric Kozak and Clay Meador have brought guitars back to the dance floor, creating custom set lists with innovative tools like Logic and Final Scratch. Rather than simply play song after song like other rock jocks, the two mix and blend their tunes like a dance DJ would. Tracks are chopped up and re-edited, and while nothing new is added -- the pair uses what's already there and creates new arrangements -- the result is a seamless, danceable mix offering up everything from Franz Ferdinand to the Pixies, Black Sheep to Bowie. You never know what's coming next, and that's half the fun. Catch White Girl Lust this Friday, October 29, at the High Street Speakeasy, for "Dead Rock and Roll," a Halloween dance party.
