Although largely unknown outside its home town of Brooklyn, Telepathe is quickly earning renown for its gorgeous, otherworldly experimental music. Conjuring an amalgamation of Broadcast, Lush and early Ladytron, Busy Gangnes and Melissa Levaudis sound like they created their music in a place isolated from immediate outside influences — a private musical world informed by daydreams and midnight yearnings. In 2008, Telepathe toured as a trio on Diplo's Mad Decent tour and solidified some of the material that would become its debut full-length, Dance Mother, produced by fellow Brooklynite David Sitek of TV on the Radio. Treading the waters between minimalist dance music, experimental electronic soundscaping and dream pop, Telepathe taps into the music of the subconscious mind.
