After being rumored for months, it's now official: The Rouge is the latest member of the Atlantic Records roster. Last night in Los Angeles over a bottle of single barrel Jack Daniels, "which they polished off in the Atlantic office," reports the act's manager Adam Lancaster, the guys signed their recording contract, and then marked the occasion with a gig at the Viper Room with the Photo Atlas.
Yes, if you've been keeping score at home, Atlantic is the very same label that just parted ways with Meese and previously dropped Vaux -- two acts, much like the Rouge, with an incredibly bright future that Atlantic managed to let slip through its hands. Here's to hoping that the imprint is more astute this time around and thus realizes greater success with the Rouge.
