Thursday is the new Friday
For those who choose to start their weekends a little early, we've composed a list of the hottest places to be and the choicest events to attend in Denver on the eve of date night number one. Riding the Wednesday wave into Thursday truly means you are a renaissance partier, and hanging ten into the weekend means you are the epitome of a socialite. Here's what's going down tonight in the Mile High for all you dance junkies, wobble bodies, punk thumpers and chill-outs:
Beta Nightclub and Triad Dragons present NRG Thursdays with one of the biggest acts in the country right now. Kaskade passed through last year during Global Dance Festival and has since been hard on the grind. Doors open at 9 p.m., but this show is sold out, so if you already have tickets, enjoy.
Marc Wei, Ginger Perry and the rest of the crew down at Ableton Colorado are starting a new, down-tempo music night at the Meadowlark on 27th and Larimer. Wei describes it as "Reconstructing the future" by implementing old jazz flavors and new school beats. The kick-off night features Drop Logik, Raw Russ, Ginger Perry and DJNSM.
The Funky Buddha has their weekly Beat The Clock party with old school hip-hop being cut on the tables by DJ B-Money and The Almighty I.Z. Get there early because the drink prices steadily go up as it nears closing time. $2 until 11pm, $3 drinks until 12am and $4 until 1am.
Reggae on the Roof showcases the island stylings of Chief Rocka and The Versatile. Presented by 3Deep Productions and KS-107.5, Vinyl nightclub gets irie on the roof with fire pits, laid back island beats and an atmosphere emitting nothing but positive vibes.
The Church hosts resident DJ Danny Martinez spinning Top 40 hits and serving up $1 drinks. Ladies get in for free until 11pm, guys over 21 pay $10 and under 21 pays $15. Catch the '80s retro-alternative sounds with DJ Phil in the basement going on all night.
