Bighorn sheep poacher wanted, $1,000 reward

The Colorado Division of Wildlife is offering $1,000 for information leading to the citation or arrest of a bighorn sheep poacher in Poudre Canyon. The Colorado Division of Wildlife is offering $1,000 for information leading to the citation or arrest of a bighorn sheep poacher in Poudre Canyon. The department is not releasing any specifics about the sheep-slaying, but they will say it happened before Thanksgiving somewhere in the Canyon west of Fort Collins.

"That herd is really delicate right now," says Division of Wildlife Officer Jennifer Churchill. "That's why this is of specific concern to us. Not that it wouldn't be anyway. We're pretty proud of our sheep."

Anyone with information on the poaching should call Operation Game Thief at 1-877-COLO-OGT.
