For Nando Mondragon, what happened in Vegas did not stay in Vegas.

The Nevada state parole board gave him an additional six-month prison sentence for violating his parole by leaving Colorado and heading to Sin City earlier this year.

Mondragon was born and raised in the Mile High and aspired to make Denver's spot on the hip hop map a little more prominent. His store, Certified Customs, featured all the latest in hip-hop fashion and local mix tapes, as well as custom kicks. But every time he gambles by taking a trip to Vegas, Nando loses -- big.

On his first trip to the strip, a dispute ended when Nando fired a bullet at his adversaries' car that hit one of them in the face. That landed him in a Nevada state prison for several years. When parole rolled around, Nando managed to get his switched back home to Colorado, where he set up Certified Customs. (Read his full story here.)

Earlier this year Nando took another trip to Vegas with his girlfriend. That parole violation could have unnoticed, except that the couple got into an argument and the police were called. Nando was arrested for assault. That case was dropped, but Nando must now do another six months in the Nevada prison for ignoring the boundaries of his parole.

Custom Certified has already been broken into once since Nando's been locked up, so his father, Santiago, plans to sell off the remaining hip-hop fashion on the Internet. In the meantime, dad is keeping the business registered in case Nando gives it another shot.

Whether Nando will be able to come back to Colorado or forced to stay in Nevada though, will be up to the Nevada state parole board come September. -- Luke Turf
