Only a few hours after Jeremy Wilson was killed near the intersection of 26th and Bryant, another possible homicide victim was discovered on the 8600 block of East Dry Creek Road in Arapahoe County.

The woman who died has just been identified as Mae Kuroki, age 81.

And the person who's been taken into custody in the incident? David Kuroki, her 53-year-old-son, who was subsequently hospitalized after apparently harming himself. Details below.

According to his LinkedIn profile, David Kuroki is a biotechnology professional with Novus Biologicals, whose goal is to "accelerate scientific discovery by developing and marketing unique products for the lifesciences."

At around 11:10 a.m. yesterday, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to an East Dry Creek Road apartment on what's described as a welfare check.

There they found the the elder Kuroki, who died under circumstances that led investigators to suspect homicide. Law enforcers soon came up with the name of a possible suspect -- David Kuroki -- and put out an alert.

Shortly thereafter, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a medical-issue-related call to the 11000 block of East Lansing Circle. The person they found there was David Kuroki, who was transported to a local hospital with "self-inflicted injuries."

The ACSO release continues to identify the incident as a homicide, but there's no reference to an arrest of Mae Kuroki's son or potential charges -- possibly because of his current condition.
