It's turning out to be an unfortunately lethal weekend in the Mile High City. Early yesterday, a dead man with gunshot wounds was found at the 3100 block of North Franklin. Then, just after 3 a.m. this morning, the Denver Police Department responded to a report of another body, this time in the field at the intersection of Arizona Avenue and Pecos Street captured in the graphic above (if you have problems seeing the image, click "View Larger Map"). Yes, it's another example of gun violence. At this point, the name of the victim hasn't been made public. Read the DPD release by clicking "Continue."

On May 31, 2009, at approximately 3:04 a.m. the Denver Police received a call of a man down in a field at Arizona Avenue and Pecos Street. When officers arrived on scene they found a Hispanic male in his twenties laying in the field suffering from what appeared to be gun shot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. This death is being investigated as a Homicide. The victim's identity and exact cause of death are pending the Coroners' report. We are not releasing suspect information at this time. Anyone with information about this incident asked to call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
