It's a far stretch from Rockefeller Center, but restaurateur Jesse Morreale goes all out for the holidays at his pair of hipster cantinas, Mezcal and Tambien, by decorating both rooms in true Mexicano holiday splendor that adds - we swear it - an additional sparkle to those already glowing signature margs.

Today at Tambien, Morreale invites folks to enjoy the indoor turn-on, with an extended happy hour that lasts from noon to 7 p.m., when the place gets officially lit.

This spectacle must be seen to be believed: A year ago, our own eloquent food critic, Jason Sheehan, described the decorations in shimmering prose, for his Christmastime review. And today, it couldn't possibly be any less lovely or schlocky, or both, so delicately entwined over platters of spicy comfort food and endless adventures in tequila.
