Poultrygeist and the PleasuresDudes
We, the PleasuresDudes, were invited by Troma Pictures to the premiere of Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead last Saturday in Los Angeles!
We arrived at the theater in Hollywood at around 6 p.m., and our totally rad PleasuresDudes camera crew started setting up to create this slide show. Soon lots of very unique-looking humans and non-humans started to arrive, and after about ten fully gnarly minutes the crowd began making noise as a gentlemen in a beige suit started to walk up to the Green Carpet! Yes, it was Lloyd Kaufman, the founder and owner of Troma Pictures, whose most famous picture is The Toxic Avenger!
I told him that we were the PleasureDudes and would love to do a quick interview. He replied, "I have waited my whole life to work with the PleasuresDudes – let’s get started!" So I, Rusty Boner, the blonde-haired crazy PleasuresDude, asked Lloyd the first question: “What was the first film you created?” Class of Nuke 'Em High, he said, “and it was the beginning of a long run of fun and crazy films!"
Derf, the more well-mannered PleasuresDude, asked Lloyd for his favorite horror films. At first, because he knew we were actually the Ambassadors of Porn, he said, “Well, my favorite porn film is Debbie Does Dallas.” But Derf pointed out, “Dude, we said ‘horror’ film, not ‘porn’ film!” Then he replied that his favorite horror films were Frankenstein and Freaks. As for his latest project, his new book Direct Your Own Damn Movie is coming out, and his five-part DVD series on making films is already out. Go to the Troma website to find out more about Lloyd Kaufman, this legend of crazy films!
While we were interviewing Lloyd, a bald dude named Brian Taylor, the creator of Crank and Crank 2, barged in to say hi to Lloyd – he’d just hired Lloyd to act in one of his newest films! The very very latest thing from Lloyd and Troma Pictures is Toxic Avenger the Musical!
Then all the Troma characters -- including Toxis, Count Smokula, the Chicken and more – came up and asked us to act crazy, like they usually do. The Count made up a PleasuresDude song and started singing it, and the others danced around. Chad of the rock group New Found Glory cruised up and started telling us about his tour coming up in a few months, and how he wrote the theme song to Poultrygeist but wasn’t quite sure how the movie was going to turn out.
LOLOLOL! Boy, is he in for a surprise, because the night just gets better, as we report in part two. – the PleasuresDudes
