Reader: High Times Cannabis Cup trash pile-up not exactly in the spirit of Earth Day
William Breathes's post about the area left trashed on Earth Day in the wake of this past weekend's High Times Cannabis Cup drew a huge response from our readers. Fingers of blame were pointed out promoters, organizers and venue supervisors -- but this comment focuses on attendees, as well as fans of a certain back-in-the-day band.
Rachael Wilmeth writes:
Much like the Grateful Dead fans that leave a wake of trash behind them, it confuses me when groups that you would think would care about our environment prove to be either too lazy or too stupid to remember to simply pick up after themselves and revert to acting like spoiled children. Regardless of profit, are we not educated and responsible enough not to do this?
