Thomas Holloway (No. 9): Boulder man suspected in slaying of his elderly stepfather
Just in from the Broomfield Police Department: Thomas Holloway, 53, from Boulder has been arrested following a couple of incidents last night. According to the BPD, Holloway is suspected of firing two shotgun blasts through the door of his estranged wife's Summit at Flatirons apartment. No one in the apartment was hurt. But police later found the body of Holloway's stepfather, who lived in the same complex. He'd been shot to death. Check out the BPD release and an interactive graphic of the area below:

On Monday, June 28, 2010, at about 8:13 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunshots at the Summit Apartment Complex in the 200 block of Summit Blvd. Initial information indicated 53 year old, Mr. Thomas Holloway of Boulder attempted to contact his estranged wife at her residence in the complex. After failed attempts to make contact, Mr. Holloway used a shotgun to fire two holes into the front door and fled the area. Neither of the occupants inside the apartment were seriously injured.
Officers later learned Mr. Holloway's step father lived in the same complex. While checking the safety of the step father, officers gained entry into the residence and discovered an elderly male with an apparent fatal gunshot wound.
Boulder Police Department Officers later located Mr. Holloway at his home while searching for him on a related incident and placed him in custody. He is currently being held at the Boulder County Jail and faces pending charges from the Broomfield Police Department for the incident in the City and County of Broomfield.
Further investigation is ongoing.
