Today's featured event: Monday Movie Madness lights up Infinity Park
Outdoor movie nights? They're the best! Everyone lolls about, enjoying picnic fare in the fresh air under a starry sky, watching a popular movie that not only has something for everyone, but that also somehow transcends its second-run status thanks to the lovely atmosphere. And weather notwithstanding, one of the best-outfitted outdoor summer series, Monday Movie Madness, begins its second year at Glendale's Infinity Park rugby stadium tonight at dusk. The film? Doesn't much matter, but it just so happens that Adam Sandler's gloriously silly golf romp Happy Gilmore will light up Infinity's ginormous JumboTron screen. Pack up something good to eat and join the rest of the bleacher bums tonight; gates open at 7:30 p.m. at the park, 4599 E. Tennessee Avenue. Admission is free, and films to screen later this summer include such crowd favorites as Raiders of the Lost Ark, Best in Show and Mamma Mia!, among others. Visit the Movie Madness website for a complete schedule.
