As reported here -- a lot -- Westword restaurant critic Jason Sheehan had a book-signing at Katie Mullen's last evening. And that just happened to be the bar where Ward Churchill and attorney David Lane went after their day in court, where they'd told Judge Larry Naves why Churchill deserves to get his job back at the University of Colorado.

Naves had presided over the trial in March during which Lane and Churchill had argued that CU had wrongfully discharged the controversial prof not for how he taught, but for what he'd said. The jury in that case found for Churchill -- but also awarded him only one dollar in damages.

Churchill is hoping for better from Naves, whose ruling is expected early next week. And in the meantime, he had one question for us: Who had snitched on him for sneaking smokes in the men's bathroom at the Denver City and County Building?
