For five bucks you get to check out the Myopia exhibit, and in tonight's case -- learn some deep dark secrets of other museum goers. My Teenage Angst, the show where audience members read their adolescent journals aloud, will provide the entertainment for the evening. Sources say you do not need a journal to participate, but like, who doesn't walk around without their high school burn book in their back pocket anyway? Don't be a wallflower, ya square, get on that stage and let it out.
Art of Winter Closing Party at Battery621 (Friday, free) The good folks that spruced up downtown and the airport with artistic skis and snowboards, say goodbye to their run tonight. It's hard to believe how far this little public art exhibition has come in only five years, so head down to Battery 621 tonight and give them all a pat on the back, and encourage them to make next year's show even bigger. The party is in the Art District on Santa Fe, and it is First Friday, so knock out a whole night of entertainment by coming down.
Bad Times Extravaganza: The Reloadening at Voodoo Comedy Playhouse (Friday, $5) No matter how bad you have it, somebody, somewhere, has it worse. That's a simple fact of life. Tonight, you can commiserate, and laugh, at the misfortune of others. Sam Talent and Ryan Mattingly bring back the psychotherapy comedy show where someone tells a tale of the worst thing that's ever happened to them, and comedians Christie Buchele, Stephen Agyei and Kevin O'Brien make breakthrough discoveries of where it all went wrong for their subject and perform skits tailored to the situation. It might bring you down, but with these goofballs brand of comedy, it's sure to bring you right back up. Please Stop Calling My HouseArt Opening at Indy Ink (Friday, free) To see some of the coolest printmaking and comic based art in the city, look no further than Indy Ink this week. Molly Bounds,Taylor Barbosa, Jazzmyn Barbosa and Kat Salvaggio are at the top of the who's who of printmaking in this city, so it's definitely worth your time to stop by and bless your home with new piece of art.Neal Cassady Birthday Bash Weekend at Denver Metro Area (Friday-Sunday, free) Neal Cassady is a mythical legend for our city. Being a beat poet is one thing, but he was also a good friend of Jack Kerouac's and served as the bus driver for Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters for the Acid Tests. It was a fantastic life he lived, so celebrate it at discussions and films hosted at Lighthouse Writers Workshop and the McNichols Building this weekend. More info here.

Head to Beauty Bar later for the after-party. Tri-State Swap Meet at National Western Complex (Saturday-Sunday, $10) For all the car guys and gals out there, head to the largest indoor swap meet in the Rocky Mountain region to find all those impossible to find parts for your auto projects. Even if you don't really know much about cars you should check it out for the memorabilia and antiques for decorating your home. Everything is for sale for the right price. Mile High Soul Club at Syntax Physic Opera (Saturday, $3) You're blowing it this weekend if you don't make it to Mile High Soul Club. They spin the best music and tonight features special guest DJ Reed Wolf, of SpeedWolf fame, who can spin rhythm and blues just as well as he can sing rock'n'roll. Bring a special somebody, or meet a new one there, because this is baby making music for sure.The Church of Coen Presents: Raising Arizona at Syntax Physic Opera (Sunday, free) When the Coen Brothers made Raising Arizona, they set the bar pretty high for comedy movies. When Theresa Mercado got this film series started, she set the bar pretty high on showing films in a bar -- but tonight, she's really out doing herself. Not only do you get to watch a perfect comedy, but celebrating the musical significance in the film will be members from Slim Cessna's Auto Club, Denver Broncos UK and Munly & The Lupercalians. Hard to believe you can get all that entertainment for free, before you have to head back to the work week.
