10 Things to Do for $10 in Denver This Weekend (8 Free!), November 6-8

Hopefully, everyone has recovered and repented from that crazy Halloween last weekend. There's still some spooky spirit to go around this weekend, though, if you didn't get your fill, as well as beer to drink and dances to dance. Raise Your Voice Art Show at Youth on Record (6 p.m. Friday, free)
The kids are our future, so let's encourage their creative expression tonight. Students from the RiseUp Community School will debut their artwork, sculptures, a film and even a 'zine, all circling around the theme of social justice. After learning about various movements, the students crafted their work to express such causes as domestic violence, immigration and objectification of women. It's an interactive and positive way to start the weekend.

Opening Day Party at Punch Bowl Social (6 p.m. Friday, free)
Never Summer and Breckenridge Brewery throw a party every year to kick off the ski season. Celebrate your lust for pow and pipe tonight with live music from Nuns Of Brixton, giveaways, a premier of Never Summer's newest film, board waxing and mechanical bull riding. 

Stuff on Walls at The Deer Pile (8 p.m. Friday, $5 donation)
Just a good old-fashioned art party at the Deer Pile tonight. Climb the steps to check out art from tons of local artists. Kick out the jams with Stegoforrest & Friends, Copyleft and Katie Mason. The night also features a pop-up shop of sorts, featuring zine makers, robot gear and more.  

Chance to Dance at Ellie Caulkins Studio Loft (9 a.m. Saturday, free)
Denver Arts Week kicks off this week, and it's peppered with special events like this one. Learn everything from aerial dancing to Irish dance at one of the many classes offered throughout the day. It gets you in shape and it's a lot of fun. We all could use a couple extra grooves. Check out the classes here.

One Year Anniversary & Block Party at Mockery Brewing (12 p.m. Saturday, free)
Let's thank Mockery Brewing for providing us with suds by coming to their one-year anniversary extravaganza. Be one of the first 500 people there to receive a commemorative glass to taste the 20-plus beers they'll have on tap. Bluegrass tunes to shake your rump and food trucks to stick to to your gut will help fill out the party. 

Beers & Spears at Denver Beer Co. (12 p.m. Saturday, free-$10)
Those Real Dill pickles are the truth, and they pair perfectly when you're tying one on with Denver Beer Co brewskis. For $10, get a flight of beers and pickles for a nice little afternoon libation. Enter the spicy pickle-eating contest if you dare for a chance at free beers and spears. 

Other Lands, Other Dreams: A conversation on war, peace, and building the society we want at Denver Art Museum (1 p.m. Saturday, free)
It's easy to make our city a better place when we get to interact with the Warm Cookies of the Revolution folks. Today, check out their latest installation on the third floor of the DAM and then head down to Ponti Hall to have a discussion with Kathy Kelly, founder of Voices for Creative Nonviolence and Garett Repenhaggen, Iraq War veteran and Rocky Mountain West coordinator for Vet Voice Foundation about experiences of war and peace. Voice your opinion on how to make our city the best it can be.

2015 Horrorhouse Pinball Tournament of Death at 3 Kings Tavern (8 p.m. Saturday, $10)
Listed as one of the month's best geek events, you don't want to miss out on this pinball/haunted house blowout. Each room of the haunted house will be decked out in a theme of a pinball game. It's an extra $5 to enter the tournament in each room for a chance at prizes, but will definitely be worth a look around. One last chance to hang on to the Halloween spirit. 

Dark Goddess Festival at Mercury Cafe (1 p.m. Sunday, free)
Life has all kinds of explanations. Today learn about and celebrate the the Dark Goddesses like Lilith, Persephone, Demeter, Medusa and more at this free festival. Dress up to celebrate the shadows and inner mysteries of life with healers, readers, live music and good times. Find out how to use your primal instincts and deepest desires for good. 

The Church of Coen Presents: The Ladykillers at Syntax Physic Opera (7 p.m. Sunday, free)
We hope you've been a regular member at the Church of Coen, soaking in all their wise dogma. Tonight, enjoy a southern twanged Tom Hanks in the funny feature The Ladykillers. Bianca Mikahn will provide a musical selection after the film, letting us return to work on Monday feeling refreshed.
