If you’ve been lying awake at night thinking desperately about how to save helpless Gulf seabirds covered in goo, you’re not alone. But thanks to fellow worrier and block organizer Robin Lohre of the Talulah Jones boutique, 1122 East 17th Avenue, you can now contribute in a small but certain way on the local level during tonight’s Shop and Eat on 17th Avenue event.

Brought to you by Lohre and a bunch of like-minded businesses along the avenue in the Uptown district beginning at 5 p.m., Talulah and friends — including Babylon Floral, Peppermint, Soul Haus, Strings, Olivea and Hamburger Mary's — will throw in a percentage of the evening’s sales and tickets to benefit the National Wildlife Federation; in addition, Baer-Simon Photography will host a photo booth. Stop by Talulah’s to shop through 8 p.m.; other venues, and especially the restaurants, will continue fundraising until individual closing times.

For information, call 303-832-1230.
