Snow bunnies and Backcountry Betties everywhere, take heed: Freeskier and Lange are launching the Local Lange Girl '09 contest. Four regional winners -- two from each coast and two from the mountains in between -- will be chosen to represent Lange at on-snow events across the country. In return, they'll get a Lange gear sponsorship and a gondola full of Lange and Freeskier swag. One overall winner will see ink in Freeskier (last year's winner, Amanda Jean, got a pull-out poster in the buyer's guide).

In the past years, Lange Girl qualifications amounted to little more than "look hot in a pair of ski boots and not much else." (Do you really think Pocahontas at right can shred chutes?) But since Lange joined forces with Freeskier, they've placed priority on finding ladies who can truly crush on the slopes as well. Of course, being hot doesn't hurt:

Lange is looking for girls who are outgoing enough to represent the brand, ripping enough to get around any ski area, and sexy enough to keep the Lange Girl tradition strong. They're not looking for models, they're looking for ripping ski town hotties who can talk the talk and walk the walk.
Other qualifications include being over 18 and a U.S. resident. Entries will be accepted until January 15, but you better get cracking: Freeskier reports that they received 30 entries in just the first 24 hours.

Are you planning on applying to be a Lange Girl? Are you forcing your girlfriend/wife/mistress into it for the free gear? If so, tell us about it in the comments below.
