Though they’re usually buried under weightier news stories, mainstream media outlets are full of outlandish tales, bizarre characters and endless comedic possibility — especially this election season. Brent Gill digs up these gems for Infauxmation!, an improvised comedy show that presents a series of wacky news stories to a crew of this town’s funniest comics, who then present their best riffs to a delighted audience. “If Chelsea Lately got knocked up in a threesome with @Midnight and The Daily Show, Infauxmation! would be their lovable bastard child,” says Gill, using a typically raunchy metaphor.

While Infauxmation! stands out as a homegrown success story, fired in the local humor crucibles of both Comedy Works locations, cash-eyed kingpin Gill has also taken the show on the road to Toronto, Los Angeles and New York. But you can catch it at 8 p.m. tonight at Comedy Works Downtown, 1226 15th Street, and at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, August 16, at Comedy Works South, 5345 Landmark Place in Greenwood Village.

Tickets for either show are $12 and available at comedyworks.com. And in case you haven’t had your fill of Gill, he’ll be headlining at the downtown club August 30 and 31.
