In a year resonating with the battle cry for change, in a city that hosted a convention to propel that change forward, it seems only fitting that Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a pioneering harbinger of change, is up next to take the Insight Speaker Series stage.

As an activist who became the first black archbishop of Cape Town and has fought against AIDS, poverty and racism, Tutu has proven that one person can make a significant and positive difference in the world, a notion best summed up in his own words: “Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” Insight’s Annette Brant notes that Tutu’s appearance will be particularly timely: “Everyone’s just in a state of uncertainty. How can we move productively? How can we get to the other side of this?”

This rare opportunity takes place tonight at 7 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Theatre in the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th Street. Mayor John Hickenlooper will give the introduction, and the evening will culminate with an audience Q&A session. While tickets are sold as packages for the series, single event tickets are now available for Archbishop Tutu, for $96; purchase yours at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts box office, or at www.insightspeakers.com or 303-893-4100.
