Shields posted the workout on the Lion's Pride Training Facebook page with the following note: "Thinking about parking it on the couch on Wednesday and skipping your workout to watch the first presidential debate, which is taking place here in Denver? Yeah. Think again, bud."

Now that it's been shared online by the Sweaty Betties and other workout groups across the country, Shields says that Lion's Pride Training members will be on-site during today's DebateFest at the University of Denver, encouraging people to join them in such activities as holding a plank for 30 seconds every time either candidate says "Obamacare." Ouch.
"Colorado is one of the fittest states in the nation and the first debate is here, so we thought it would be fun to create a workout around the mannerisms of the candidates so people could watch, listen and sweat," Shields says. "Melvin Williams and I designed this because it seemed clients were going to skip their workouts to watch the debates."Williams and Shields are encouraging fans to share their debate-watch planking photos on the Lion's Pride Training Facebook page. And if the ten jumping jack push-ups you're doing every time Romney promises a tax cut leave you feeling weaker than the economy, Shields suggests preparing for the next four years with either Lion's Pride Training's Full Pride Camp (every Saturday at 9 a.m. at Commons Park) or Boot Camp 101 sessions (immediately afterward, at 10:15 a.m.). The one-hour classes are $12 for drop-in sessions, $80 for a ten-punch card, or $40 for a five-punch card.
