Yeehaw! The National Western Stock Show is in town, which means that Denver hotels are full of boots and cowboy hats. The Four Seasons is offering an artful twist: Today Western artist Duke Beardsley will take up residence in the front of the Edge bar/lounge, where he'll be painting throughout the month. See also: National Western Stock Show Adds a Barbecue Throwdown Beardsley is the hotel's first "artist in residence," and not only will he be painting in his pop-up studio -- and painting fast, judging from the piece he produced during a preview this week -- but he'll also host a variety of events over the next few weeks, including visits from other artists.

On January 13, photographer Brown W.Cannon III will join Beardsley for a cocktail-hour confab from 4 to 8 p.m.

On January 20, Denver native Scott Parker, who now lives in France, will be painting at the hotel all day, and then join in a cocktail party from 4 to 8 p.m.

On January 27, contemporary artists Virginia Diaz Saiki will join Beardsley for the day, which will be capped off by another cocktail gathering from 4 to 8 p.m.

That's not all.... At noon on January 23, the hotel will host the Western Fashion Luncheon featuring Rockmount Ranchwear and the art of Duke Beardsley. Tickets are $22, and include an Edge quartet lunch. And at 6 p.m. on January 28, Dinner with Duke will feature the artist and a Colorado ranch- focused, five-course dinner; tickets are $100.
