Westword readers have long been familiar with local-band-makes-good the Fray. Music editor Dave Herrera gave its first full-length album, Reason, a positive review back in 2003, when the group was with an independent record label and still struggling to get local stations to play its singles. Now a new single, “You Found Me,” is being featured in a promo for the next season of Lost. The Fray will preview that song and a self-titled new album at a CD-release party at Vail Snow Daze this Friday, December 13. The band has also confirmed Westword’s powers of prognostication by picking Meese, which was selected as one of our “Moovers and Shakers” in 2006, as its opener. The week of concerts and “on-snow events” gets started today with DJ Blick at 11 a.m. and continues with a free concert by Bonfire Dub Trio and DJ Psychonaut at 3 p.m. and a Bud Light Kick Off Party at 7. Big Head Todd and the Monsters headline at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 12. Snow Daze tickets range from $20 to $175; call 1-970-476-6797 or visit www.vailsnowdaze.com.
