“We get people looking for one particular song that they’ve never been able to find. We’ve had, on a couple of occasions, guys who are looking for their own record,” says Kurt Ohlen, one of the organizers. “They didn’t own a copy of the 45 that their high-school band put out in 1966, and they’ve been able to find them. That’s a really cool thing, to see that going on.”
Even those with slightly more mainstream tastes will find plenty to buy, with vendors from all over the country selling vinyl, CDs, DVDs, memorabilia and more. And when you need a break from all that crate-digging, you can head over to the atrium to catch some live music, courtesy of Accordion Crimes, and DJ sets.
The expo runs from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. today at the Ramada Plaza, 10 East 120th Avenue in Northglenn; admission is $2. For more information, visit bigk.com.
