Weed is good for you. It's true: Just ask Healthy Honeys creator Shannon Donnelly, the weed guru and yoga activist who holds a Get Fit and Stay Lit class every weekend. Donnelly will show you all the ways to use cannabis for good, not evil, and tell you how smoking in a variety of healthy ways can improve your fitness routine.Donnelly's class is great for beginners. The instructor will teach a slower, vinyasa-style class, in which she incorporates meditative breathing with some key core-activating moves that focus on centering of the mind and body. Less seasoned yogis are able to pause and catch their breath, watching the more experienced students, then jump back in to the rhythmic moves whenever the spirit moves them.

At Healthy Honeys, you also get to try numerous ways to smoke cannabis, ranging from a Volcano vaporizer to a portable Pax vaporizer, a new and innovative electric dab rig, RipStic oil pens and good, old-fashioned pipes. "My favorite method of consuming cannabis is vaporizing," Donnelly explains. "I love using my Volcano vaporizer, It is super-easy to use and always ready to go."

The Volcano can cost anywhere from $600 to $800; it fills up a giant bag with the purest form of THC smoke, and then you remove the bag once it's full and hit it. Time and again, the Volcano's been shown to be the healthiest way to smoke.
The Pax uses a similar vape method, but it's small and portable. Don’t expect to get a huge, coughing hit from a Pax, either: When you vape, you are saving your lungs from most of the toxins that make you cough in the first place. The result is a smooth, delicate-yet-powerful smoke that shows less in your exhale than the amount of high you will feel. And then you're free to enjoy exercise like yoga without shortness of breath or any other lung issues that could result from smoking instead of vaping.

After hitting one of these methods, even the most experienced stoners/yogis could feel light-headed if they stand up too fast. But they'll be really high — which makes it all worthwhile.

Join the Healthy Honeys revolution at Green Labs 1250 31st Street from 1 to 3 P.M. this Sunday, May 24. Cost is $20.
