You've got to love spring in Colorado's mountains, where you might be sunburning a permanent goggle than onto your face one day, ripping powder the next, or maybe even taking care of both at the same time. There's actually snow in the forecast this weekend, according to OpenSnow.com forecaster Joel Gratz, with another storm on the way later next week. Read on for our picks for how to make the most of it, and don't pack up that ski gear just yet!

This means war! On Saturday the Red Bull Snow Warz slopestyle ski and snowboard contests will take over the A51 Terrain Park, with riders battling it out for cash prizes, a season pass, and a trip to the Snow Warz finals at Heavenly Mountain. Registration ($30) starts at 8 a.m. at the Mountain House Base area ticket office. Get there early, because the event is capped at 100 participants.

Bring your student ID! If you really are on spring break, don't miss College Day at Wolf Creek, where the most expensive ID card you'll ever own will help you score a $38 lift ticket this Sunday.

Jam on! Aspen's Bud Light Spring Jam concludes on Sunday with the Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls at Aspen Highlands (registration is $45 per person and includes a Helly Hansen base layer and the after-party at Highlands Ale House).

Alternately, head to Snowmass for a free Terrain Park Boot Camp or to the base of Buttermilk for the debut of the Red Bull Double Pipe, a pro halfpipe event on a 22-foot superpipe spine ramp billed as the biggest halfpipe feature ever built. Semifinals are on Saturday, finals on Sunday. The Double Pipe will be open to the public starting next Wednesday.

Go big! Breck's Spring Fever festivities include the spectator-friendly and IFSA-sanctioned GoPro Big Mountain Challenge on Peak 6 on Sunday, followed by a Chili Cookoff on the Sevens patio at the Peak 7 base area. There's also a full schedule of concerts, parties, and competitions through April.
