Regardless of where you stand on the high-stakes art-auction issue, the opportunity to see what kind of work exacts big bucks on the auction block is still an interesting prospect. And here's your chance: The one-and-only Christie's international auction house brings a three-day, pre-sale mini-museum of Impressionist and Modernist works, American art, nineteenth century European art and more to the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek, beginning Tuesday, April 22, and running through Thursday, April 24.

"We are beyond excited to help Christie's showcase these incredible pieces," says JW Marriott general manager Dave Pease. "We have long been dedicated to supporting the arts in Colorado and are proud to serve as the official host hotel of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. This will truly be a unique event for Denver's art scene." But that's all in day's work at the Cherry Creek North hotel, which is already known for its extensive Colorado art collection. More than fifteen great works, including paintings and sculpture by the likes of Thomas Moran (whose stunning "The Grand Canyon of the Colorado" -- part of the exhibit -- is expected to sell for more than $8 million next month in New York), Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Henry Moore, will be on view to the public between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily.
