There's little snow along the Front Range, but there's a blizzard of activity at the Colorado Convention Center, which is currently hosting 20,000 industry buyers from around the world at the SnowSports Industries of America Trade Show. The show opened this morning when, after a moment of silence for free skier Sarah Burke, who recently passed away after a training accident, SnowSports CEO Tim Petrick introduced Mayor Michael "Air Dog" Hancock to welcome buyers, exhibitors and the media. Now In its third year in Denver, the trade show will run through Saturday, with buyers getting to look at gear from nearly every snowboard, ski and snow-related company in the market. The trade show will also offer a fashion show featuring the 2012-2013 lines of apparel from such brands as 686, Nike and many more. And an On-Snow demo in Winter Park will give guests and locals alike the opportunity to shred on the newest gear, some of which is not yet available commercially.

Along with the 20,000 attendees here for the three-day event, the trade show also brings in nearly $30 million in revenue for Denver, Hancock noted. Now all we need is snow...
