Expectations for a Denver Broncos team haven’t been as high as they are this year since the days of the legendary John Elway/Terrell Davis duo: They have one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time in Peyton Manning; a passing offense that got even deadlier with the addition of Wes Welker; and a defense that ranked second overall last season.

So, they have to make the playoffs, right? Well, as the city learned last season, it takes more than talent and expert predictions to win a playoff game. After the Broncos' heartbreaking double-overtime elimination against the Baltimore Ravens last January, they come into 2013 with a huge chip on their shoulder, eager to wash away the bitter taste of that game with a run at the Super Bowl. And who better to open the season against than the Ravens, the very team that showed them up on their home field seven months ago?

The game, which starts at 6:30 p.m. at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, is sold out, but there's always StubHub and scalpers — if you have the cash. But the game will also be broadcast on Channel 9 and in bars and restaurants all over this orange-and-blue town.
