After a winter hibernation, new retail merchandising vendors are wheeling out their wares on the 16th Street Mall. And not only have the offerings grown, but so have the hours: The Downtown Denver Partnership now requires vendors to be on-site between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The strip between Welton and Stout streets is particularly loaded, with ventures like Brooke Comai's Climax Jerky, Lu-Re's Handcrafted Beaded Jewelry, Jestibo of Colorado and Body Massage Wellness Spa joining the lineup, which includes many repeat performances. 16th Street vendor Jacky Meshulam, owner of NYS Collection, is back with affordable sunglasses to help shield tourist's eyes from the (usually) blinding Denver sun; Khazi Azatullah (call him Khazi) returns with his Body Jewelz cart, which features jewelry and other accessories. And there are new vendors in this mobile marketplace: Tapping into the Denver craft scene, Louella Alebiosu and Raeline Smothers are launching Lu-Re's Handcrafted Beaded Jewelry, a cart where you can watch local craftspeople create one-of-a-kind accessories. Houston Moore, whose Body Massage Wellness Spa is located at 1616 Welton, will offer chair massage and an array of personal-care products to introduce pedestrians to the spa's services.
