Explains Kammerzell: "A lot of their art was exceptional. Some of it was every bit as good as the works of fine artists of the time. I paint in similar tone and manner to what they did, and I'm always trying to find something that will put me into that time and mental space."

From architectural studies against the golden aura of blue skies and palm trees to lovingly illustrated montages of twentieth-century imagery, Kammerzell's paintings are both evocative and stylish, and more than 25 of his newest oils will go on display at a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 28 at Von Tornow Gallery in the Golden Triangle.
