The performing arts get eclectic this weekend around Denver with a b-girl jam, a one-man tour de force that’s also a birthday celebration, and a smorgasbord of Asian-American arts. All are don't-miss events; here are the details:

Local b-girls will be in the spotlight this weekend during the Queenz of Hip-Hop, which warms up on April 8 with a raw break-dancing performance by the renowned Cypher Adikts team. The jam itself, a daylong b-girl throw-down with cash prizes, commences on Saturday, April 9, at the Driscoll Center, with host LadySpeech at the microphone and appearances by the Janes, Koo Qua, and Kalyn Heffernan and Wheelchair Sports Camp, as well as live art courtesy of Ill Pixy, Olivia Lucero and Karma. Boulder’s Ami Dayan helps celebrate Italian Nobel Laureate Dario Fo’s ninetieth birthday with a one-night performance of the playwright’s one-man storytelling tour de force, A Tale of a Tiger, a parable on the dangers of power that speaks on different levels to audiences of all ages. Catch this Tiger by the tail this weekend or next.
