Contestant # 3: Maren Williams (sounds like "mahhhhren"): "I've always loved the '40s, '50s and '60s eras and their impeccable fashion, so when my parents mentioned this contest, I just had to inquire! I think it would be really fun to meet other people who love retro clothing as much as I do."
Contestant # 4: Stephanie DeSantis: "I would love to be Miss Modernism because it would allow me to live out my fantasy for one evening. My fantasy? To have been born a couple decades earlier. I grew up in the '80s, and as much as I loved parachute pants and jelly shoes, I always admired the life and style of my two grandmothers, Betty and Alice! They both wore bold colorful costume jewelry on a day to day basis, and gloves and hats to church. Grandma Bette's pink kitschy kitchen was my haven, and Grandma Alice's closet full of neck scarves and rhinestone jewelry was like paradise. Today my entire home is decorated in Mid Century modern and Hollywood Regency decor. Half of which I inherited from my Grandmothers. Can you believe no one else wanted it? I spend hours in thrift stores rescuing treasures from the past. Some to keep for myself, and some to sell on my vintage website www.stephied.etsy.com. I may have been born in the wrong era, but I am making up for it by living a fabulous vintage lifestyle! I would do that sash proud!"
