We published that commentary from Mike this weekend, and it prompted an outpouring of responses. Normally we reserve these comment posts on Arts for the weekend, but one response was so thoughtful, the words seemed a perfect start to the week. Says Matt:
As a native, I'd say it's give and take: we have Voodoo Donuts on East Colfax, yet we have increased homelessness (both in terms of numbers and in visibility); we have a vibrant downtown nightlife, yet we have the LoDo bro's; we have professional baseball, yet we have the Rockies; we have the Super Bowl Champions, yet we have Mark Sanchez; we have amazing green chile, yet we have Casa Bonita; we have amazing mountains, yet we have horrible traffic; we have the start of sensible drug laws, yet we have pot stank everywhere... give and take, yin/yang, South Park/South Platte. Things are better, things are worse. What do you think of life in Denver these day? Of this response to Mike? Of Mike's original comment?
