"The Bill Cunningham film was such a great documentary to come out this year -- for a fashion film, it was one of the best of the last few years," says Katie Shapiro, Reel Social Club organizer, of the movie choice. Shapiro also says that while some movie junkies might want to stay home and watch Sunday's big event, the club still wanted to give people a chance to get out and talk about the year in films and compare potential Oscar picks, and a late-morning soiree on Saturday seemed like perfect timing.
Along with the screening and a never-ending mimosa bar, Radio 1190 will be providing pre-film music and Santiago's will be serving up it's famous breakfast burritos. A photobooth will also be on site to add to the fun, and Buffalo Exchange will be throwing down a Cunningham-inspired fashion show to get viewers in the mood.
Reel Social Club's Seam To Screen at the Denver FilmCenter, 2510 E. Colfax, is a twenty-one and up event; tickets are free for RSC members and $20 for non-members. Advance tickets are available (and recommended) via www.denverfilm.org. For more information, call (303) 595-3456.
