The concert concept was created by Partners board member Matt Bower as a fun, low-cost way to raise money for the organization. "We are in this to really cause a positive impact in at-risk youth in our community, and it doesn't have to be something where you have to spend $100 or $300 to go and actually be impactful for that cause," he says.This year's concert will feature local musicians Medic, Amanda Hawkins and Rachel and the Kings. There will also be food, a full bar and opportunities to sign up to become mentors or further support Partners. Bower hopes to fill the Marquis Theater with people who want to party for a good cause. "There have been tons of people every year so far who have told us this is the most fun fundraising event they have ever been to," he says. "That's what we're out to do for the night."
Rock for Youth starts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 at the Marquis Theater. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door; all proceeds will benefit Metro Denver Partners. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the event wesbite.
