Ten Things to Do in Denver for $10 or Less (Five Free), May 6-8

May 6 is a pretty wild day, since it's National Beverage Day as well as International No Diet Day.  It's also the day that kicks off the weekend, and there will be plenty of events to help you celebrate both beverages and no diets, as well as outdoor markets and live music. TheBigWonderful Launch Weekend
Sustainability Park

It must be getting warm if the wonder of the summer is making a comeback. The BigWonderful opens its season on Friday in Sustainability Park, where it all began, with live music, drinks and food. The artisan market returns on Saturday, complete with Derby Party and more live music. And bring Mom on Sunday for mimosas and Mother's Day gift shopping. Tasty cocktails and fancy food truck eats will be available all weekend; don't forget to bring the furry friends so they can play in the on-site dog park. Denver Tool Library Concert Series & Bazaar

It's rad that you can borrow tools from the Denver Tool Library, but it's more rad that the non-profit throws extravaganzas like this. Free before 8 p.m. and $5 after, the night features jams from The Outfit, FACEMAN and U.S. Tygers and the comedic stylings of Nathan Lund and Zach Reinert. Kahlil Cezanne opens an exhibition of photographs at Leisure Gallery in front of the DTL, and Arna Miller will do live screenprinting. Grab a taco or BBQ off the food truck and sip some brews from Renegade to round out the night.  
How To Build A Lie: Apocryphal Technologies and Works by Jamie Allen & Pablo Picasso

This is a chance to see some Picasso works in real life, but what Jamie Allen's bringing to How to Build a Lie is wild, too. The Canadian-Swiss media artist is the senior researcher at the Critical Media Lab in Basel, Switzerland, and presents installations like a recreation of The Lie Machine, an early instrument in Voice Stress Analysis algorithms. The show will make you think about the roles technology and media have played in our lives — and it should also be a good time. 
Governor Jack Washes Your Sheets x Bumblefuck featuring Rollie Williams
Voodoo Comedy Playhouse
8 p.m. Friday, free-$10
Governor Jack welcomes Rollie Williams, when he airs out his embarrassing dirty laundry through the magic of improv. Stick around after for the always super-secret Bumblefuck comedy show. It might feature local dudes or touring comedians, but you can only find out if you show up. Grab your Governor Jack tickets here; Bumblefuck is free.


Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day is a national movement, and you can celebrate at spots all over town, including Mutiny Information Cafe. In addition to snagging free comics, you can meet creators Melanie Gillman, Dylan Edwards, Jeremy Stoll and many more. Later in the day, check out live readings from Karl Christian Krumpholz, Stan Yan and Samuel Teer.  
Denver Punk Rock Flea Market

There are plenty of handmade markets, but few have the edge of the DIY Punk Rock Flea Market. Browse through such offerings as tattoo flash, vinyl and punk memorabilia today; get inked in the Mobile Tattoo Ambulance and grab lunch from a food truck. And don't forget to check out the after-party at Tooeys! Off Colfax to complete the day.

The monthly mash-up returns to celebrate its third anniversary. The wrestlers will be going head-to-head-to-head in triple-threat battles while Adrian P. Mesa, Zac Maas, Mallory Wallace and Alex Creasy make the jokes. But you'll have so much fun, you may have the last laugh.

The newest dance craze and music video comes to Leon tonight, and it should rival the Macarena and Harlem Shake. The Camel Toast Collective, whose members are all Bigfoot believers, will present the video and bring awareness to the Yeti through the power of shaking our butts. Hop on the craze before the Internet takes it viral.
