From 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow, September 8, Denver Urban Gardens and Art Farm will join forces for the sixth annual Harvest outdoor community art show and garden gala, held at the West Washington Park Community Garden located at 201 Grant Street in Denver.

Over the last two dozen years Denver Urban Gardens has organized, constructed and supported over 120 community gardens throughout metro Denver; a quarter of them have been school-oriented. The Art Farm program is more recent; it's an ongoing series that plants local artists in various Denver Urban Gardens plots across town. The goal is to reflect the growth stage of the gardens while offering the artists an opportunity to display and sell their work.

According to organizer Eric Matelski, "It's everything goes at Harvest. We just try and showcase as much big, beautiful art as we possibly can."

In addition to guided tours, there will be live music by David Boyd, beer from Left Hand Brewing Company and snacks from Whole Foods. And the show will go on, rain or shine. "The event has had great success in the past," Matelski says. "There was only one year out of five where we had rain -- and oddly enough, that was our biggest outcome."

The Art Farm Harvest show is free; a portion of all artwork sales will benefit Denver Urban Gardens.
