Humor Lecture Series: Kalup Linzy at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (6:30 p.m. Tuesday, free)
If some teachers had a better sense of humor, school would have been a lot more interesting. And Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design's latest lecture series is plenty interesting, because it focuses on humor. Tonight, learn about the complications of family, race, gender, romantic entanglement and celebrity through Kalup Linzy's performance of A Lullaby, a Job, and an Ass to Hope For, which includes both video and musical accompaniment. This is a fantastic opportunity to catch a live show by Linzy, who's received a Guggenheim Fellowship and appeared on screen alongside James Franco. RSVP here.

Comedy Night: Halloween Edition at Ratio Beerworks (8 p.m. Wednesday, free)
Comedians are always testing out new material for the big stage. Tonight you can hear talented local comics trying out bits while you test your Halloween costume to make sure it's on fleek for Saturday night. Come to Ratio dressed to impress and hear spooky side-splitters from Mara Wiles, Bobby Valentino, Andy Juett and more. And don't miss the display of pumpkins from the carving contest the night before.

I Love My IUD: Film Screening & Panel Conversation at Su Teatro Cultural and Performing Arts Center (6 p.m. Thursday, free)
Living in Colorado has so many positives, including the the groundbreaking program to provide long-acting reversible contraceptives to all who want and need them. Get down to Su Teatro tonight for more information on the progressive program, as well as lectures, panels and a screening of I Love My IUD. Teen pregnancy has dropped 40 percent recently in this state, and events like this are a reason why.
