Breckenridge is hosting the first stop of the Winter Dew Tour this week for the third year in a row, and the event's Peak 8 festival village opens today. All of the main-event finals action will happen on Saturday and Sunday, but head up today anyway: The format for the Nike 6.0 Open lets new riders try to earn a spot on the tour through open qualifiers, which means you'll get to see a ton of up-and-coming local riders duking it out for a chance to join the pre-qualified athletes.

The Men's Snowboard Slopestyle qualifiers get under way this morning at 9:30 a.m., followed by qualifiers for Men's Freeski Superpipe (10:30 a.m.) and Women's Snowboard Slopestyle (2:15 p.m.), and the prelims for Women's Freeski Superpipe (3 p.m.). Today's also a great day to see some of the top pros taking practice runs, and to get autographs and meet some of your heroes in the festival village.
