Lucky for you, it's Pedro Almodóvar Season at the Thin Man, where just such a retrospective kicks off tonight at 8 p.m. in the Ubisububi Room downstairs. Since many of his movies sport a subtle serial thread -- the idea for one is often embedded in the plot of another -- the idea of an Almodóvar season makes perfect sense.
First up is the 1984 comedy What Have I Done to Deserve This?, which follows the misadventures of a dysfunctional family in Madrid; while in my humble opinion, any Almodóvar film is a good film, highlights in the future include, well, everything, in this order: Matador, Law of Desire, The Flower of My Secret, Bad Education, All About My Mother, Talk to Her and Volver. The Thin Man is at 2015 East 17th Avenue; call 303-320-7814.
