Yeah, we've all seen the Warren Miller films, and the many other ski movies out there. While some every now and then show a woman, such as Hannah Teter, the movies are usually about the guys dropping the big lines, hurting themselves on rails, and generally out having a good time.
The ladies now are getting their own full spread. This Tuesday, February 23, Outdoor Divas in Boulder will host a showing of "Catch Us if You Can," the first ski movie that exclusively features women skiers.
Among the shredders featured in the film are Lynsey Dyer, Rachael Burks, Janette Hargin, Sara Orrensjo, Jennifer Farde, Anja Parson, and Stina Jakobson. Like many a Miller movie, the film was shot around the world, on location in Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, USA, and Japan. It was directed by Janette Hargin and Sara Orrensjo.
The $5 suggested donation will go to benefit SheJumps, an organization that promotes women's participation outdoor activities through mentoring and networking.
The film starts showing at 7 p.m. Oskar Blues will be providing beer, and Bombay Bistro will provide appetizers. All those attending will get a chance to win a pair of skis.
