For Drew Carey Presents the Best of the Midnight Show, the comedian partnered with funny friends to create an edgy mix of sketch and standup. Carey's two nights and four shows in Denver will begin with a series of scenarios and end with a half-hour of standup, or "as long as I can go," Carey jokes. "I will tell you this about The Midnight Show: They’re about as edgy as they can get without getting us kicked out of the building." In fact, two club owners have asked the troupe not to show a controversial slide show. "Don’t bring your kids," Carey adds.
The Midnight Show hits the Comedy Works South, 5345 Landmark Place, tonight and tomorrow night at 7:15 and 9:45 p.m.; tickets are $26. For more information, call 720-274-6800 or visit www.comedyworks.com.
