Light is insubstantial and infinitely dynamic, rich with emotional associations and relatively easy to manipulate under the right conditions. such properties make it a fascinating artistic medium, one that Sliding Door Gallery, 554 Santa Fe Drive, explores in an offering titled In the Light of Thought: a Winter Celebration. The exhibit marks a return to the theme for the gallery, which ran a successful show of similar works several years ago. "As with the first, we loved the idea of illuminating the darkness of winter with art," says Sliding Door founding member Karen Bozik. "The only light sources in the gallery will be those cast by the works themselves. It should be beautiful!"

The show opens tonight with a reception from 6 to 10 p.m. and continues through January 27. Gallery hours are Friday through Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. For more information, visit http://slidingdoorgallery.wordpress.com or call 720-979-4448.
