Remixes, sampling and mash-ups have become part of the standard lexicon of music, and now they're making their way to visual media. Artist Tony Romano takes photographs, drawings, found objects and more, scans them all into a computer and then layers, distorts and filters them in Photoshop. The results are unique works that look far too natural to have come out of a computer. The content is striking and thought-provoking, juxtaposing images both familiar and strange into intriguing new contexts. Romano will be present tonight from 7 to 11 p.m. at Th'ink Tank Tattoo Studio and Art Gallery, 172 South Broadway, for the opening reception of his MashUps exhibit. The show stays up through November 3. For more information, call Th'ink Tank at 720-932-0124 or go to www.thinktanktattoo.com.
