Even if you weren’t lucky enough to score tickets for Phish at Red Rocks tonight (or you just don’t care for that brand of seafood), you can still enjoy a visual rendition of the band, along with plenty of other acts, at a rock poster exhibit and sale titled A Mock Show.

The work of more than twenty poster and print artists will be on display, including the iconic Phish imagery of Jim Pollock and David Welker and pieces from Lindsey Kuhn, AJ Masthay, Ryan Kerrigan, Jermaine Rogers and more. The bands and festivals represented include everything from the aforementioned jam-band kings Phish to the Flaming Lips, They Might Be Giants and Lollapalooza. Styles range from neo-psychedelia and Day-Glo pop art to edgy, urban-tinged material. One intriguing piece is a large multi-part installation from Ian Millard, Michael Ortiz and Jon Lamb that will become a dis-installation as people buy pieces of it and it’s taken apart.

Catch the display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Sheraton Denver West, 360 Union Boulevard in Lakewood. Tickets are $10, or buy a limited ticket/Jim Pollock poster combo for $50. For tickets and more info, visit www.amockshow.com.
Sat., Aug. 1, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., 2009
